Guaranteed compliant with SUP legislation

No fuss

You must demonstrate that your organization complies with the SUP legislation. Not next year, but at the next inspection or audit. And at the same time, nothing should grind to a halt on the shop floor. That is precisely the tension we work on daily.

We do not supply disposable items, only reusable tableware from our own factory in Gemert. This way, you eliminate the risk at the source. Compliance then becomes a purchasing choice instead of a project.

Recognizable in your situation?

Purchasers and facility managers almost always encounter the same issues. Do you recognize any of these? Then you've come to the right place.

  • You need to substantiate your compliance, but you don't have figures for return and reuse.
  • Your locations are subject to different rules, from office to event.
  • Your supplier does not provide conclusive information about material and application.
  • There is still a supply of disposables that someone wants to use up.
  • Facilities fears extra workload due to collection and washing up.
  • Management requests a decision that will still be valid in five years.

Each of these points can be resolved with one choice: no more disposable items purchased for on-site consumption.

What the SUP regulations ask of you, in a nutshell

Reusable is the standard for on-site consumption. For takeaway and delivery, you always offer a reusable alternative. And certain single-use plastic products have been banned from the market since 2021.

This also applies to bioplastics such as PLA. Therefore, switching to another disposable variant will not solve your problem. Below, we explain what is expected of you in each situation. Do you want to see the original source? Then click the button below.

Office, education, and corporate catering

For on-site consumption, reusable is the norm. Offices and company canteens are explicitly included in the regulation. From 2027, the exception for this group will completely disappear. Reusable is therefore the only route remaining. Think of CirculCup at the vending machine and CirculPlates in the canteen. Without that step, you will not be compliant here.

Catering & Takeaway

For takeaway and delivery, disposable packaging remains permitted, even after 2027. However, you must always offer a reusable alternative. With the CirculBox, you can turn this obligation into a better takeaway experience.

Hospitality, day attractions, and associations

Here too, reusability is the guiding principle. These sectors will still have a choice from 2027. They may use disposable items, provided they collect and recycle them. This requires a robust return flow and demonstrable results. Compliance will therefore involve more work in these cases.

Festivals, Events, and Stadiums

At an event, speed of dispensing and return is paramount. Our ultra-durable CirculGlasses can be reused hundreds of times. With RFID return bins, you can scan returns in bulk, eliminating queues at the bar or counter.

Here's how it works in practice

Becoming compliant doesn't have to be a months-long project. We set it up in four steps.
Step 1
Furnishing
Step 2
Use and collection
Step 3
Clean
Step 4
Back in use
Step 1
Furnishing

Furnishing

We map your locations, volumes, and dispensing points. Then, for each location, we choose the right product and the right return point.

Step 2
Use and collection

Usage and collection

Your guests and employees use the crockery as usual. They return it at fixed points. We install these points, with your own logo if desired.

Step 3
Clean

Clean

We collect the used products and arrange for professional cleaning. So your team won't have any extra washing to do.

Step 4
Back in use

Back in service

Everything will be returned to you clean and checked. Worn-out items will be taken by us for recycling into new raw materials. This way, every product gets a second life.

Proof that you can provide

An audit doesn't ask for good intentions, but for figures. With CirculSmart, each item receives a digital identity via QR code or RFID tag. This allows you to track what goes out and what comes back in per location.

You export your return percentages, your reuse cycles, and your waste savings. You use these figures in your annual report, your procurement dossier, and during an audit. This way, you can demonstrate your compliance.

The results vary per location, as the setup and usage determine the return rate. That's why we report what actually happens, and not what is theoretically possible.

Run the compliance check

Do you want to know where you stand within a minute? Go through these five questions. Each no is a concrete action point for your locations.

  • Are you still using disposable plastic cutlery, plates or straws?
  • Are you still serving in disposable cups or containers at your location?
  • Do you offer a reusable alternative for pick-up and delivery?
  • Is your office coffee supply already fully reusable?
  • Do you have figures on your returns and reuse per location?

Two or more 'no' answers? Then a twenty-minute conversation is worthwhile. We will review your locations with you and map out the route.

Frequently asked questions about the SUP legislation and your purchasing

Your organization must already be compliant, as some of the rules have been in effect since 2021 and since 2024. The revised rules will follow in 2027. Organizations for which the rules change will then have a year to prepare.
